Almost finished knitting up the handspun from earlier this week - just a simple scarf. The yarn was a bit sticky with lanolin.
A multiple of 4 stitches + 1: knit 2. purl 2, knit 1. The fabric lays flat with this pattern (no need to block the edges).

Knitting with yarn that you spun must feel "whole" like a complete circle. If only you had sheared the sheep! What can you do about the lanolin? Can the scarf endure the cleaning to get it out?
I think I'll let it stand the way it is - a sample, maybe.
I've got the sheep! Her name is "Baa" and she lives at Sweet-Home-Spun. A gift from JoAnn. When it cools off, let's go visit her. . .
